Burns Aviation Team Takes Part In Passenger Terminal World Conference In Germany
On March 15th, leaders from Burns’ Aviation team will travel to Cologne Germany to attend the 2016 Passenger Terminal World Conference and Expo. At the conference, David Kipp, PE, Vice President of Technology Systems at Burns, will present “Implementing Immersive Media Systems at LAX” during the Airport Design, Planning & Development track.
The recent opening of the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX premiered the introduction of immersive media in the airport industry. This Integrated Environmental Media System (IEMS) has been described as “eye-popping”, “a pioneering project”, “breathtaking”, and “a stunning success” by various reports. The IEMS merges an IT-based audio-visual system with terminal architecture to produce an extraordinary and captivating passenger experience. Dave, along with Aura Moore, Deputy Chief Information Officer for Los Angeles World Airports, will discuss how technology can transform a terminal, how to use IT for visible and tangible benefits, how to successfully integrate technology with airport architecture, and how to help airports establish a sense of “place” while addressing their growing technology needs.
The Passenger Terminal Expo and Conference is one of the most highly regarded airport conferences in the world. Attracting 1,350+ senior airport, airline, aviation authority, government and related business executives from all over the world, this conference allows attendees the opportunity to pool information, address concerns, discuss solutions, and exchange ideas for the future development of the world’s airports.
