Burns Continues to Strengthen Airport Technology Systems Team

Matt Hendel, PE, and Karen Bowman recently joined Burns, adding exceptional talent, depth and technical expertise to our Aviation team. Both Matt and Karen specialize in Airport Technology Systems, which encompasses information technology, access control, video surveillance, public address, multi-media, information displays, common use and other airport low voltage specialty systems. The addition of Matt and Karen further strengthen Burns’ Airport Technology Systems Team – a team that is one of the largest and most talented of its kind in the world.

Matt joins Burns as a Senior Technology Engineer. He brings more than 13 years of technology systems experience at airports across the US, including Louis Armstrong New Orleans, Dallas-Fort Worth, Indianapolis, Miami, Lambert-St. Louis, and Wichita. Matt’s experience and technical leadership will allow him to deliver tremendous value to our clients, beginning with current projects at Orlando International, Houston Intercontinental, and Nashville International Airports. We are excited to have Matt on board as we continue to deliver innovative technology solutions and passenger experience enhancements for complex airport terminal projects.

Karen joins Burns as a Designer focused on Airport Technology Systems. She has over 13 years of experience in the preparation of drawing packages utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Microstation. Hard-working, detail-oriented and meticulous, Karen will provide valuable leadership in the production of high quality deliverables to our clients. Karen will hit the ground running, jumping right into the Orlando International Airport South Terminal C Phase 1 project, where Burns has a prime role for all technology engineering for the $1.8B program.
