Burns Helps PennDOT Upgrade Bridge Infrastructure
Burns is currently performing bridge rehabilitation design for four bridges in Luzerne County, PA, for PennDOT Engineering District 4-0. Burns is responsible for overall project management, bridge rehabilitation design, roadway design, traffic control, and environmental permitting. The bridges in this project include a stone masonry arch rehabilitation, a reinforced concrete arch rehabilitation, a reinforced concrete box culvert rehabilitation, and a prestressed adjacent box beam bridge redecking.
These bridge rehabs are being completed as part of PennDOT’s Decade of Investment Program – a plan to reinvest in Pennsylvania’s transportation system. This program helps prioritize projects to make efficient use of recent ACT 89 funding, and will reduce the number of structurally deficient bridges across the Commonwealth.
