Burns Announces New Members
Burns Engineering, Inc. announces the addition of the former Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), Dharam Pal, PE, to the company. Michael Maziarz, PE, and Ryan Breier have also joined our staff, continuing our commitment to project excellence and client satisfaction.
Dharam Pal, PE
Dharam joins Burns after over 40 years with the PANYNJ, with diverse experience in the design of systems for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, as well as plumbing and fire protection, vehicular and railroad tunnel ventilation, aviation fueling, central heating and refrigeration plants, and vertical transportation. Most recently, Dharam served as the Port Authority’s Chief Mechanical Engineer, responsible for managing and directing a large staff of mechanical engineers and designers at PANYNJ facilities, and he lead the mechanical engineering efforts for the Downtown Restoration Program at the World Trade Center site. Dharam joins Burns as a Senior Manager.
Michael Maziarz, PE
Mike has nearly 30 years of experience as a project manager and electrical engineer, and has been involved in a wide variety of engineering and management assignments, including design engineering and management in the railroad, transit, utility and commercial sectors. Mike’s work for the rail and transit markets has included designs for traction and signal power, 60 Hz power, bonding and grounding, fire alarm and lighting systems. His work spans substations, rail and transit shops, yards and passenger stations including experience in electrical distribution, generation, PLC’s and DCS control systems. Mike joins the Burns Team as Senior Project Manager for the Transit Systems Design Group.
Ryan Breier
Ryan has 11 years of experience in the transportation field, specifically in the design, implementation and maintenance of Signal and Train Control Systems. Ryan is a dynamic, proactive, and goal-oriented professional possessing a broad range of technical, management, and business skills. Ryan joins Burns as a Senior Signals Designer for the Transit Systems Design Group.
