Burns On Team for Denver Airport's South Terminal Redevelopment Program
Burns is part of the Parsons Program Management Team (PMT) for Denver International Airport’s South Terminal Redevelopment Program (STRP).
Burns is leading the mechanical and electrical engineering effort for the PMT. The STRP includes an RTD FasTracks commuter rail station, expansion of the Jeppesen Terminal to the south for new concessions and leasable space, an open air plaza, and the construction of a 500-room hotel and conference center. The roof of the FasTracks train station will become an extension of Jeppesen Terminal’s Great Hall, featuring a large open-air plaza with a partial glass canopy. The existing concourse passenger train and airport baggage systems will be extended underneath the plaza, increasing operational capacity for both systems.
The STRP is progressing in conjunction with RTD’s FasTracks East Corridor, and is scheduled for completion in 2016. The estimated cost of the STRP is $500 million.
