Burns Overseeing Central Mesa Extension Light Rail Transit Project
Burns Engineering has been awarded a Task Order by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to provide project management oversight of the Central Mesa Extension Light Rail Transit Project, a 3.10 mile double track “Small Starts” project. The entire project is within the City of Mesa and includes four stations, trackwork, systems facilities, landscaping, structures, vehicles, station platforms, a park-and-ride, transit center, ticket vending machines, train signals, train signal houses, TPSS, and spare parts.
Burns’ assignment is to evaluate this Small Starts project to ensure the reasonableness, quality, completeness, and reliability of the project scope, cost, and schedule, and the technical capacity and capability of the grantee to execute the project.
Burns will provide FTA with a technical review and assessment of the Central Mesa Light Rail project to evaluate the projects’ readiness to enter the Project Development Phase.
