Burns Performing Co-Generation Study for SEPTA
SEPTA recently engaged Burns Engineering to complete a 18MW, 25Hz Power Co-Generation Feasibility Study to investigate onsite power generation options. The purpose of this analysis is to evaluate various options for primary and peaking power generation with and without waste heat recovery. SEPTA is concerned with power reliability, as well as the cost of its 25 Hz traction electrical system. SEPTA must also take into account that the State of Pennsylvania would like to utilize its Marcellus Shale natural gas assets for clean, efficient power generation with State entities.
