Burns Selected for Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrade at Philadelphia Water Department’s Northeast Water Pollution Control Plant

The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) has selected Burns Engineering to upgrade existing lighting at their Northeast Water Pollution Control Plant. To perform the lighting study, Burns drew on experience with other lighting studies, energy efficient designs, and past work with PWD. Burns has conducted research and visual observations at the plant to establish baseline lighting information, and has recommended the installation of automatic lighting control in several areas. Burns will implement a new, improved energy efficient lighting system in thirty-four buildings at the plant which have various uses including water treatment, pumping, maintenance/storage, and office space.
