Philadelphia International Airport Terminal B/C Improvements
Burns Engineering has been chosen to assist Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) with mechanical, electrical, and special systems engineering for a new in-line checked baggage inspection system to replace the existing baggage handling system serving Terminals B & C.
The design team will be responsible for developing multiple design concepts for a fully integrated baggage handling system, consistent with the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) guidelines and criteria, which will improve airport security. The design will solve PHL’s high traffic demands and will incorporate the projected future needs of US Airways’ domestic operations, including international re-screening.
