Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Burns Engineering, Inc. will assist Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with the design of a new high-tech system to better protect the airport’s outer boundaries from security breaches.
This technology, known as a Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS), may include radars, closed-circuit television, sensors, behavior analytic software, and other advanced technology equipment. These systems will be used primarily to protect passengers from everyday threats and to monitor the perimeter of the airport to detect unauthorized intrusion. Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport ranks 7th nationally in passenger volume.
Burns Engineering is pleased to have been selected as the firm to provide Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with these solutions to protect the airport’s future. Burns is currently engineering and managing the installation of perimeter security upgrades at Washington Reagan National and Washington Dulles International Airports.
