SEPTA Awards Burns GEC
SEPTA has awarded Burns Engineering, Inc. the General Engineering Consultant ‘09 Facilities and Buildings Contract. The principal goal of the GEC is to make available custom-tailored, on-call engineering services that can be mobilized rapidly, performed efficiently and delivered competently within schedule and budget. SEPTA plans to engage Burns for up to three years for buildings and facilities engineering, including stations, garages, shops, loops and miscellaneous physical plant facilities.
Burns has provided GEC services to SEPTA since 1995, and has completed over 75 task orders that enable SEPTA to maintain their facilities.
Burns provides a wide range of services to transit clients throughout the country, and develops highly customized and responsive solutions in the following areas: rail and bus facilities; passenger facilities; rail traction power and overhead catenary systems; track; communications; and project management oversight.
