Joe Zagorski promoted to Higher Education Project Manager

Joe Zagorski, PE, LEED® AP was recently promoted to Project Manager in Burns’ Higher Education Group! Joe started his career at Burns as an intern in 2001, joining the firm full-time as a Mechanical Engineer in 2003.

With over eleven years of design and management experience, Joe has expertise in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems; plumbing, sanitary and storm water drainage systems; potable water systems; fire protection and security systems; site utilities; cost estimating; construction inspection; and mechanical and electrical system surveys. As Lead Engineer on projects for The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, SEPTA, Philadelphia Gas Works, and the Philadelphia Water Department, Joe is experienced in system improvements at many types of facilities. Most recently, Joe designed a smoke control system for the four-story atrium at LaSalle University’s new 80,000 square foot School of Business building. Joe also served as Lead Engineer for the development of the University of Pennsylvania’s Facility Condition Assessment Program. This program enables the University to effectively and efficiently capture and manage information on its existing facilities and building systems in order to identify system deficiencies, prioritize new projects, request project funding, and track spending.

In his new role, Joe will focus on project management for colleges and universities, including the University of Pennsylvania and Rowan University.
