Kevin Shertz Speaking On Perimeter Security At ACC/AAAE Airport Symposium
On Thursday, February 19th at 4:00pm, Kevin Shertz, PE, will present “Airport Perimeter Security” during the Innovations in Airport IT Workshop at the 2015 ACC/AAAE Airport Planning, Design & Construction Symposium in Denver, Colorado.
Kevin’s presentation will look at the benefits of doing a perimeter security assessment, and will discuss available perimeter security technologies, and the best way to layer and implement these technologies in order to develop a customized and comprehensive perimeter security system that is both extremely effective and manageable. Kevin will also examine various financing options available to airports for perimeter security projects, and will give an overview of a successful perimeter security program at Washington Dulles International Airport.
Kevin is a Project Manager with Burns’ Aviation Group. Kevin has spent his entire career in the planning, design and construction of airport facilities from cargo buildings to parking garages to terminal buildings. Over the past 12 years, through Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority’s on-call contracts, Kevin has completed multiple upgrades to the comprehensive perimeter security systems at Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan National Airports. Kevin is currently managing the communications design for the new 45-gate common use Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport, and the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the new Air Traffic Control Tower at Thurgood Marshall Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
