Steve Bezner Moderating Panel at 2016 APTA Rail Conference
From the substation to the moving vehicle, traction power is what makes it all go. On Tuesday, June 21st at 8:30am, Steve Bezner, PE, will moderate “Overhead Systems and Innovations” during the Traction Power Track at the 2016 APTA Rail Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. This session will begin in the substation looking for short circuits, follow the power to the vehicle, looking alternatively at trolley poles or pantographs, and give consideration to the poles that hold it all up.
Steve, Chief Traction Power Engineer at Burns, has 40 years of supervision, design, computer study, testing, commissioning and construction management experience for the electrification of new start LRT and existing commuter rail systems. As an active APTA member, Steve has served as Vice Chair of the Power Subcommittee of the Power Forum, and as a member of the Maintenance Standards Committee. He has also served on the IEEE Standards Committee as the Vice Chair for the Rectifier Standard Working Group.
