Erica Antoine Named Recording Secretary of WTS Philadelphia
Congratulations to Erica Antoine, PE, Civil Project Engineer in Burns’ Railroad & Transit Group, who was recently elected Recording Secretary of the WTS Philadelphia Chapter’s Executive Board for the 2017-2018 term. WTS Philadelphia focuses on promoting the development and advancement of women in the transportation industry.
Erica has been a member of WTS since 2010, and was named Philadelphia Chapter Member of the Year in 2015. Most recently, Erica served as the Treasurer on the Executive Board of Directors for the Chapter. As Treasurer, Erica oversaw the chapter’s financial planning, including collection, investment, and disbursement of funds. Prior to her role as Treasurer, Erica served on the Chapter’s Board of Directors as Co-Chair of the Scholarship and Awards Committee and she was a founding member of the Philadelphia Chapter Transportation You program.
Always eager to teach, Erica is a mentor of the Transportation You Program, a hands-on, interactive, mentoring program that offers young girls an introduction to a wide variety of transportation careers. Erica works with the committee’s leadership to come up with thought-provoking projects and offers guidance to mentees with college and scholarship applications. Erica leads the program’s outreach efforts, partnering with local teachers and advisors, distributing flyers at local science fairs, and networking with other STEM organizations to share resources.
