Hank Mercaldo Promoted to Project Manager

Hank Mercaldo, PE, was recently promoted to Project Manager in Burns’ Facilities & Infrastructure Group!

Hank has more than 22 years of diversified experience in all aspects of structural analysis and design for both new and rehabilitated structures. Currently, Hank is Chief Structural Engineer for Amtrak’s new maintenance-of-way facility and two-story police building, and is providing structural engineering and oversight services for the design of the two buildings, which will be connected by a corridor/bridge.  In addition, Hank is working as Project Manager for the multi-discipline I-78 Maintenance Garage Expansion and Welcome Center and Salt Shed Renovations project for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.  Prior to these assignments, Hank provided structural engineering and project management for SEPTA’s historic nine masonry arch bridges rehabilitation project, and served as Project Manager for Burns’ multi-discipline engineering work for La Salle University’s new School of Business building.

Hank holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Master of Civil Engineering degree from Villanova University. He is a member of the executive board and the most recent Past President of the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers.
