David Smith Presenting at 2017 Globalcon Conference

On Wednesday, March 22nd at 2:30pm, David Smith will present “Natural Gas Technology: The Keystone to a Microgrid Project’s Success” at the 2017 Globalcon Conference in Philadelphia, PA. Dave’s presentation, part of the Advanced Energy Solutions track, will discuss the importance of incorporating natural gas fired distributed energy resources (NG-DERs) into resilient microgrid design to ensure reliability during massive and prolonged grid failure. NG-DERs can range from fuel cells, to reciprocating engines, to combined heat and power systems. If carefully sized and integrated into a microgrid, NG-DERs can provide more than just resilience. As dispatchable resources, these systems can generate revenue for the end user through demand response and other electric market program participation. This type of design and operation adds value and makes “resilience with a payback” possible.
Globalcon 2017, presented by the Association of Energy Engineers, is designed to help decision-makers expand their knowledge of fast-moving developments in the energy field, allowing attendees to explore promising new technologies, compare energy supply options, and learn about innovative and cost-conscious project implementation strategies.
