Burns Helps DRPA Achieve Full-ADA Compliance for PATCO System

Burns is currently overseeing construction at six train stations for Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) that will make the PATCO system the first fully-ADA compliant legacy transit system. The installation of elevators and related improvements at 12th/13th Street and Locust, City Hall, Collingswood, Westmont, Haddonfield and Ashland stations will create a barrier-free travelling experience.
Burns, as DRPA’s Construction Monitor for this very important project, is proactively identifying and resolving field issues, and is taking care to mitigate impacts to the project schedule, budget and travelling public. Through a collaborative approach with contractors, DRPA and PATCO, additional stakeholders, and the public, Burns will facilitate construction completion in 48 months.
We are proud to help DRPA and PATCO advance their mission of “Stewardship. Service. Community.”
