David Smith Discussing DER Integration at 2018 New York Power Summit

On Tuesday, May 1st, David Smith will participate in the “DER Integration” panel at the New York Power Summit.
Distributed Energy Resources (DER) – an alternative, decentralized model to the traditional electric grid – offers improved resilience and reliability, as well as reduced capital cost and environmental impact. These resources include solar photovoltaics, engine-generators, natural gas fuel cells, microturbines, and battery storage. As part of the panel discussion, Dave will examine challenges the utilities are facing, and how DER additions to the distribution system are changing the energy landscape.
The 2018 New York Power Summit will discuss current projects, unanticipated roadblocks, and innovative solutions that will help meet New York’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) goals and implementation road map.
