Burns Welcomes René Rieder Jr., Aviation Security Expert

We are thrilled to welcome René Rieder Jr, PSP, CPP, ASC, to the company! René joins Burns as a Principal Security Specialist. He is based in our New York office, and will lead Burns’ security efforts across the country. With over 20 years of expertise in innovative aviation security system design, René is a recognized leader and educator in global aviation security. His background in physical and electronic security system design for airports enormously strengthens our team’s ability to provide comprehensive systems and smart infrastructure expertise to our aviation clients.
René prides himself on understanding his clients’ goals and challenges. He offers innovative solutions that are practical, scalable, and take into account financial and regulatory constraints. René is forward-thinking and visionary, encouraging his clients to think outside the box and take calculated risks that will positively impact their businesses. He is trustworthy, down-to-earth, and easy to communicate with – all traits his clients value as they work to improve their security infrastructure.
René has served as the lead aviation security design manager for many high-profile terminal projects, including JFK International Airport Terminal 4, LaGuardia Airport’s Delta Terminal Redevelopment, Los Angeles International Airport’s Central Utility Plan, and the Seattle Tacoma International Airport International Arrivals Facility. In addition, René was the principal investigator for the Safe Skies PARAS0009 Security Management Systems (SeMS) which provides airports with a guidance document to establish and maintain a preventive and proactive security culture.
