Burns Designs Central Florida Operating Room Critical Power Upgrades

HCA Healthcare has engaged Burns to improve the performance and resilience of operating room electrical systems and patient care air handling units at Central Florida Regional Hospital.
Burns is leading two critical infrastructure projects at the Level II trauma center. Following an assessment of the hospital’s surgical suite, Burns was retained to expand electrical capacity and to install essential electrical system upgrades across seven operating rooms. A separate assessment evaluated air handling unit performance, resulting in the replacement of units serving three intensive care unit isolation rooms, the cafeteria, kitchen areas and two patient floors.
The nearly $3 million of improvements are scheduled for completion by Spring 2022.
