Blake Medical Center, Central Heating and Cooling Plant Improvements
Blake Medical Center is a 336,000-square-foot, 383-bed facility providing a range of services including the area’s only Trauma Center, 24-hour emergency care, open heart surgery, cancer care, joint replacement and inpatient rehabilitation.
Burns provided energy and condition assessments, design and construction phase services to expand the plant by replacing and upgrading the primary chiller, hydronic piping redesign, and associated cooling tower. The steam boiler system equipment was replaced with state-of-the-art steam boilers, deaerator system and the latest in smart building controls. These improvements create more compliant, reliable and energy efficient environmental control throughout the hospital.
