Central Heating Plant Engineering and Life Cycle Analysis for GlaxoSmithKline
GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) Upper Providence Campus is undergoing changes related to their global “Places” initiative that will result in site repurposing and increased staffing density.
Concurrently, some of the site’s energy-related assets and infrastructure, including the chiller plant and backup generation equipment, have exceeded or will soon exceed their end of useful life. As part of this modernization effort, Burns conducted a CHP evaluation and complete life-cycle analysis. The analysis considered integrating on-site generation in order to lower energy demand and usage, reduce carbon emissions 20% by 2020, and maintain or improve energy resilience.
