Technology updates were the cornerstone of Phase 1A/1B, which included several cutting-edge, Burns-designed elements ranging from self-service bag drops to gatehouses illuminated to indicate the start of the boarding process and synchronized with the technology systems to communicate other real-time events. Other updates include a queue management system that not only accurately communicates TSA wait times but is also integrated with electronic queue gates to dynamically adjust the queue size, common-use systems with consistent check-in and boarding processes across all airlines, and electronic dynamic signs to keep passengers up to date with flight information, communicate public information, TSA-related messaging, and wayfinding.
