We’re excited to announce Burns’ involvement in the expansion of Miami International Airport’s North Terminal – Concourse D. This project will transform the existing commuter facility into a modern, multi-level terminal capable of supporting both regional and narrowbody aircraft, improving passenger experience and operational efficiency.
Led by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, the project aims to eliminate open-air boarding with an enclosed, amenity-rich concourse, add 15 new international/domestic swing gates (for a total of 17), support larger aircraft and international travel, expand commercial spaces to boost non-aeronautical revenue, and plan for future aviation needs, including rooftop eVTOL operations
Burns’ team is providing full MEP, Fire Protection, Airfield Lighting, and Technology/Security design services for the project.
We’re proud to help shape the future of Miami International Airport and deliver innovative infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of air travel in South Florida.
