James Collins
Railroad & Transit Project Manager
James Collins has been in the trenches. His decades of hands-on experience in the construction, maintenance, design and testing of wayside signal, highway grade crossing, and communications systems for passenger and freight rail networks have made him into the expert project manager he is today.
James draws on his technical training and practical experience to provide steadfast design and construction oversight for successful projects with transit providers nationwide, including NCTD COASTER, SMART, Metrolink, SDMTS, and many others. His willingness to take on any challenge to provide solutions to complex interdisciplinary design and construction obstacles make him an exemplary asset to the firm.
Professional Highlights
- Held the position of Installation Construction Manager, Superintendent, and Signal Engineer for $45 million communications and signal on-call construction contract with the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink).
- WTS San Diego County Innovative Transportation Solutions Award Winner
- Certified Signalman – 1993, Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
James has collaborated on the following projects
