On Thursday, October 23rd at 8:40am, Chuck Dennie, PE, will present “Redefining BWI: An Airfield Transformation” at the 2014 Illuminating Engineering Society Airfield Lighting Committee (IESALC) Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Chuck’s presentation will examine Baltimore Washington International Airport’s extensive airfield improvement program, and the major airfield pavement and ground lighting updates that will turn BWI into a more modern, efficient airport by the year 2017. Chuck will also discuss some of the design and construction challenges, including the construction phasing of active runways and the implementation of a runway status light system.

Chuck has over ten years of expertise in electronic and visual navigational aids, airfield ground lighting and guidance signs, airfield lighting vaults, and medium and low voltage power distribution system design. Chuck has presented numerous papers at airfield lighting conferences, including “Modeling Airfield Lighting Vault Equipment for Coordination Studies” and “Calculating Airfield Lighting Circuit Insulation Resistance”, both at the Annual Airports Conference in Hershey PA.

The IESALC Conference is considered the world’s premier airfield lighting conference, drawing airport lighting professionals including FAA officials, State aviation officials, consulting engineers, airport maintenance specialists and airfield lighting equipment manufacturers.

We hope to see you at the IESALC Conference beginning on October 19th!
