Burns looks forward to delivering specialized aviation engineering services for airports operated by Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA), including Tampa International Airport.

Acting under an HCAA continuing general consulting services agreement, Burns will support Michael Baker International with design of special technology systems, airfield ground lighting and navigational aids, and other capital improvement projects. HCAA oversees Tampa International, Peter O. Knight, Plant City, and Tampa Executive Airports.

“Burns is excited to support Michael Baker International deliver state-of-the-art engineering solutions for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority,” said Burns Vice President of Aviation Brian Phillips, PE LEED AP. “Our team stands ready to partner with HCAA, upholding the aviation authority’s commitment to engineering excellence across these vital gateways to the West Coast of Florida.”

Burns previously served as the prime electrical designer for Tampa International Airport’s automated people mover system.
