Burns Leads Mount Sinai West Mechanical Upgrades

Burns is providing engineering design services to support a chiller system replacement at New York City’s historic Mount Sinai West.

Burns is designing replacement of the hospital’s centrifugal chillers, condenser water, and chilled water pumps. The design process involves:

Detailed phasing plans to ensure continuous chilled water supplies
Evaluation of necessary piping upgrades to accommodate new chiller machines and pumps
Integration of direct digital controls with the hospital’s existing building management system

Previous projects for the healthcare system include an assessment of Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West fire-protection systems.
