Following a year-long delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Pittsburgh International Airport has restarted their Terminal Modernization Program. Burns is advising Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) across a wide range of information technology, special systems, security, and life safety systems.
The new 700,000-square-foot terminal facility and multi-modal complex will consolidate and streamline operations including ticketing, baggage handling, security, ground transportation, and concessions. Site-enabling construction is underway, and design is essentially complete.
By reducing travel time and centralizing services, the modernization project will improve travel efficiency, while establishing a special first impression for the Pittsburgh region.
