Burns Delivers District Energy Design Services for University of Texas at Austin

Burns is supporting the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) with district energy design services.

Burns recently renewed an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity agreement to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing (M/E/P) and structural design services for projects related to the campus’ district energy systems.

UT Austin operates one of the largest microgrids and cooling system networks in the country. The main campus’ district energy system produces 100 percent of the 431-acre campus’ electricity, heating and cooling needs.

Burns’ Center of Excellence in Power & Utilities supports our higher education clients with a wide range of capital planning, project design, and construction management services. Specialties include the design and delivery of resilient microgrids, distributed energy resources, and district heating and cooling solutions.
