SAP America is one of the world’s leading business software producers, developing solutions that facilitate effective data processing and information flow across organizations.
In keeping with corporate-wide commitments to energy efficient and reliable data center operations, SAP retained Burns to upgrade two chillers serving the North American headquarters’ central chilled water plant.
To ensure continuation of reliable and efficient campus operations, the Newtown Square, PA headquarters opted for a system upgrade. This extended the life of the chiller plant and enhanced reliability. SAP selected a chiller with Quick Start features that minimize risk of cooling disruption and built-in uninterruptible power supply that can automatically restart without involving operator input.
Following an initial assessment, SAP expanded Burns’ scope of work to include electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering services. Burns facilitated an aggressive construction schedule, providing procurement support for critical, long-lead equipment, including the chillers and pre-purchased pumps.
Construction completed in Summer 2022.
Burn continues to work with SAP to deliver on the company’s energy savings targets and fulfill their reliability goals.
