Power & Utilities Project Manager

Ernie leads specialized engineering teams for ambitious microgrid, district energy, and utility projects. Accomplishments include integration and interconnection of large-scale distributed energy resources for mission-critical military, higher education, transportation, and utility clients. Ernie offers proven expertise in state-of-the-art battery energy storage solutions (BESS), microgrid controls, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and stationary reciprocating internal combustion engine (RICE) technologies, among other next-generation energy technologies.

Professional Highlights

  • Managed 60 Megawatts (MW) of microgrid design projects under U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Energy Resilience & Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP), reducing Department of Defense energy costs, improving energy resilience, and contributing to mission assurance
  • Served as in-country project manager for Abu Dhabi International Airport’s $1.6-billion Terminal A Complex’s infrastructure design
  • Led design for 120 MW of new higher education campus substations across Texas
